Perilous Times Will Come

Verse 1:

Yo, yo, yo, a word to the wise,
From Second Timothy, three and one, open your eyes.
“In the last days perilous times shall come,” (2 Timothy 3:1)
Brace yourselves, it’s just begun.

Pre-Chorus:

Men shall be lovers of their own selves, (2 Timothy 3:2)
Covetous, boasters, no need for any help.
Proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents,
Unthankful, unholy, breaking God’s commandments.

Chorus:

Perilous times, the prophecy unfolds,
Scripture’s truth, in our hearts it holds.
In these last days, we need to stay strong,
Keep the faith, and carry on. (2 Timothy 3:1)

Verse 2:

Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,
Incontinent, fierce, despisers of good users. (2 Timothy 3:3)
Traitors, heady, high-minded, loving pleasure more,
Than loving God, that’s what Paul implored. (2 Timothy 3:4)

Bridge:

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power,
From such turn away, in these dark hours. (2 Timothy 3:5)
Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse,
Deceiving and being deceived, a dangerous curse. (2 Timothy 3:13)

Chorus:

Perilous times, the prophecy unfolds,
Scripture’s truth, in our hearts it holds.
In these last days, we need to stay strong,
Keep the faith, and carry on. (2 Timothy 3:1)

Verse 3:

Continue in the things you’ve learned and been assured,
Knowing from whom you learned them, stay in the Word. (2 Timothy 3:14)
All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
For doctrine, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)

Outro:

So in these perilous times, let’s hold to the light,
Walking by faith, not by sight.
With God’s Word as our guide, we’ll make it through,
Enduring till the end, staying true. (2 Timothy 3:17)
