“Prophesy unto the wind, son of man…
Come from the four winds, O breath,
and breathe upon these slain,
that they may live.”

Woke up numb, scrolling in my bed,
Phone in my hand, heavy in my head.
Timeline full of jokes, but I feel dead inside,
Heart on freeze, tears I never let slide.
Friends in the streets, cousins in a cell,
Mind say “quit,” spirit yelling “rebel.”
Dry bones walking through the hallway doors,
Smiling on the surface, broken on the floor.
