I pray for the person listening
who feels surrounded by problems
they cannot solve.

Give them clarity where there is confusion.

Give them restraint
where anger has been trying to take over.

Give them wisdom
before they sign it,
before they send it,
before they answer it,
before they walk into it.

Lord, protect their house.

Protect their children.

Protect their mind.

Protect them from decisions
made under pressure.

Close every door
that looks good
but is not good for them.

Expose what needs to be exposed.

Remove what needs to be removed.

And give them courage
to obey You
when obedience costs them something.

For the one who is tired,
renew their strength.

For the one who is afraid,
remind them that You have not
given us the spirit of fear,
but of power,
and of love,
and of a sound mind.

For the one who has fallen,
give them enough humility
to get back up
and enough conviction
not to go back the same way.

For the one waiting on an answer,
keep them from creating their own answer
because they got tired of waiting on Yours.

And Father,
let somebody listening discover
that the place they thought
was too messy for prayer
can become the place
where You meet them.
