Herod thought the matter was settled.

But Acts 12 says—

“Prayer was made without ceasing
of the church unto God for him.”

And look what prayer interrupted!

Peter was sleeping
between two soldiers

Chains on his hands
guards at the door

Everything around him said,
“You’re not getting out of here”

But somebody somewhere
was calling on the Lord

The church got together

The church prayed
and God interrupted the plan!

Some things need more
than another conversation.

There comes a time
when you need to stop talking
to everybody about it—

and start talking to God.

James 5 says,
“The effectual fervent prayer
of a righteous man availeth much.”

Prayer can reach rooms
you cannot enter.

Prayer can reach children
who won’t listen to you.

Prayer can reach somebody
three states away.

Prayer can reach a situation
before you even know
everything happening inside it.

Interrupt retaliation.

Interrupt temptation
before somebody goes back
to what You brought them out of.

For the parent praying
for a son or daughter—

reach where their words cannot reach.

For the family
waiting on somebody to come home—

give wisdom, protection,
and conviction.

For somebody trapped
in consequences of their own choices—

give them humility
to obey the way out You provide.

And Lord,
while we are asking You
to change circumstances,

change us too.

Correct our attitude.

Correct our motives.

Correct our mouths.

Make us ready
for the answer we keep asking You for.
