Leviticus 26 said the sound of a shaken leaf
would make us run like we running from a sword.
That’s fear with no reason…
That’s us when we out of order.

Heart beatin’ fast but the block look calm,
Jump at every sound like somebody got a arm.
Police ride by, I ain’t even do wrong,
Still feel shook like the cuffs comin’ on.
PTSD and the trauma in my head,
Nightmares wide awake, tryna sleep in the bed.
Bible said leaf shake, we flee in the streets,
That’s panic, that’s curses on Judah’s seed.

Enemies laughin’ while we kill our own land.
Perish with the heathen, swallowed by the street,
Land of our enemies eatin’ up our seed.
But if we turn back to the Father’s plan,
He’ll break that fear, give us strength to stand.

And ye shall perish among the heathen,
and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.”
That’s why it feel like the hood eatin’ us alive.
But if the curses real… the mercy real too
when we come back.
